Take back

Take back

Le Tour...interesting and clever. Did anyone else notice the Vs.
commercial edit? They replaced Millar with Vino. I thought it wasn't
so cool having Millar in the commercial because 1) he served his ban,
2) he is an anti-doping poster boy, and 3) he is a current rider.

Marscat disagreed and thought it was even more of a "new day"
message. Perhaps...but they changed the ad, and I'd like to know
their rationale.

they had Zabel in there too. A current rider, who while he did not serve any official penalty, did fess up.

That's right, and I didn't like seeing Zabel there either...

I'm so lost. I don't know the jokers from the smokers or the midnight dopers. Alls I know is where to take your dawgs to a good park and the best kitteh videos on the web.

I sp'ose I should ride now. but I have to dope up with caffeine first...(is green tea banned yet?)

i s'pect they received a kind, but strongly worded letter from team garmin. crafty, that vaughters.

dunno, that ad just feels wrong all the way around. i can't quite articulate why it bugs me, but it does.

maybe it feels wrong that they singled out those riders when they could have included so many others: Rumsas(3rd pl), Virenque(multiple podiums and kom), Frigo, Claudio(3rd), Tyler, Marco(3,1), Zulle(2), Brochard, Dufaut, Basso, etc...or maybe because it feels a nut righteous?
Knowing dog parks is good.

a nut righteous?

i think it's the nut righteous part that bugs me. maybe also the singling out of a few riders in what was - and is - a wider problem, in which oln/versus, who made money off promoting the sport, were complicit. it also dodges the elephant in the corner, He Who Shall Not Be Named of the seven not really, but mostly, positive samples from the '99 Tour. nut righteous, yah!

aaah, thanks for helping me out with that ;-)

I meant "bit" but "nut" works, and it is too bad that so many of "voldemort's" co-horts were busted and he wasn't...$$$ covers up everything...funny how USA cycling decided not to pursue those 1999 doping charges and yet they do pursue others.

si... but, but, but, it's that evil french newspaper. it couldn't possibly be true ;-)

guess the whole thingy where versus keeps pimping out astana as "the american team" (grazie trek money) sits ill with this newly found anti-doping zeal also. eh, bruyneel as co-commentator? sigh.

I thought it took some guts, maybe that is why I liked it. While they can't point out everyone at least its not like they are running from the fact that have of the best moments they have telvised were done by dopers
