what's up with this?

"Unnamed" Grand Prix in Stockton

Pro/1/2 - $10,000 cash
Women 1/2/3 - $1,000 cash

I sort of wanted to drive over for a crit today. My training needs some speedwork, and my plans tomorrow won't include Burlingame. But, I just can't support a race with this huge difference in prize money. Seriously, what's up with that?

That is sad.

Sad on the money thing (I doubt it's a typo), but at least they added at W4 race at the last minute. Of course, if I'd known they were going to have a W4 earlier in the season, I would have put it on my calendar being a Stocktonite in high school and all. But instead, I'm on vacay in Canuckistan right now. No crits for me this weekend!

ippoc, did i see you out riding yesterday (saturday)?

you were going up wildcat, very focused and i was zooming down it very fast.

Lauren-Yes, that was me, I was doing some ugly hill intervals to make up for not racing yesterday. Wow, I must have been focused to not see you.

Marscat-too bad, not a tyoe.

Chris-maybe next year the prize distribution will be better.

Chatterbox-at least they did have a separate 4s race and sounds like there was some good money for the top spots. Silver lining.

Wow. I did not realize that before I went down, or I would have said something.

The club appeared to put some serious energy into their prizes, at least. They gave out little cards with your placing and race with each envelope of cash...I thought that was nice. Maybe not nice enough to make up for a $9000 discrepancy, but still nice.
